SAIC’s Public Health Operation of the Health Solutions Business Unit in Atlanta is seeking a Data Manager/Data Analyst, contingent upon contract award, to support a contract with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This position supports a Federal customer and requires either US citizen or permanent resident with the ability to pass a minimal background investigation.
Job Description:
The purpose of this position is to support surveillance, data management and data quality activities against large data sets. The data manager/analyst shall be proficient with data management and analysis tools (i.e., SAS, SUDAAN, MS Access) and maintain interpersonal skills for communicating with other health professionals and public health personnel.
Data management activities include: develop/maintain data management plan; develop/maintain data protocol/questionnaire; provide standards, processes, technical assistance, and training to surveillance sites; receive/inventory data electronically and hard copy; and convert/merge data to common dataset.
Data quality assurance activities include: identifying and resolving any inconsistencies in data flow and data outside legitimate ranges; development of data quality reports and investigation and resolution of data anomalies or errors. Communicates with the persons responsible for data collection as well as tracking of problem resolution to improve the quality of the data collection/acquisition process, and keeping of data-correction logbooks or files.
Additional Qualifications:
» Support development of surveillance investigation forms and data bases as needed.
» Establish/maintain contact with surveillance sites as needed.
» Develop data quality reports and investigate and solve data related problem identified in the database.
» Analyze epidemiologic study and/or survey research data using multivariate modeling techniques.
» Proficient in SAS statistical software and SAS programming fundamentals.
» Proficient SAS macro language and design of data management system for error checking and SAS report writing.
» Will have advanced responsibility and work independently.
» May be responsible for providing guidance to Jr. Analysts /Programmers
» Sound writing skills, and ability to clearly communicate information orally and in writing
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher and 4 years related experience in statistics, mathematics, or public health with appropriate experience
