The Enterprise and Mission Solutions Business Unit currently has an opening for a Sr. Network Engineer at our Sierra Vista, AZ facility.
This position will require the successful candidate to travel up to 75% of the time.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The successful candidate will work in a specialized engineering task in support of the United States Military Entrance Processing Command’s (USMEPCOM) requirements for site surveys, customer support, system implementation, upgrades and integration, and technical support. Primary duties include but are not limited to the survey of network systems for network connectivity and requirements; engineering designs, preparation of bills of material to support the new network architecture, installation/integration of the hardware and software components in support of USMEPCOM networks. Support the USMEPCOM relocation, training functions, and troubleshoot network problems. Supervise the evaluation of new and emerging technologies to determine their applicability and provide recommendations and conclusions. Prepare documentation and engineering diagrams specifically identifying network components, configurations, and systems anomalies for those sites that have been recently installed. Items configured and installed include but are not limited to Cisco 6509 switches, Cabletron SmartSwitch 2200 (10/100BaseT) campus switch stack for Windows computerized Adaptive Test (WinCAT) system, install Win CAT workstations and TA stations, other switches, routers, data server units, and modems. Install and configure a variety of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software on customer workstations in order to provide the appropriate connectivity to the network. Supervise a team of 2-4 network engineers on these tasks. Advise and work with local network officials on network integration problem resolution. Install Premise Wiring to bring network infrastructure up to standards with new equipment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Must have 2 years of vocational training or professional certification from an accredited technical school or equivalent military school and 6 years experience or a total of 8 years of experience.
Successful candidate will have access to classified information and must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. Active Secret is preferred.
